Fiber Mountain IT Managers are skilled individuals who manage day to day IT operations within the organisation. We are seeking an IT manager who can join us on this journey, making use of their technological skills to help us become more efficient. The IT Manager will be responsible for coordinating, planning, and leading computer-related activities within the organization. They will help determine the IT needs of the organization and will be responsible for implementing computer systems to fulfil those needs.  

Our ideal candidate should have extensive knowledge of network maintenance, experience managing staff, and advanced industry knowledge to keep us on the cutting edge. The selected individual will be responsible for maintaining essential IT operations, including operating systems, security tools, applications, servers, email systems, laptops, desktops, software, and hardware. They will also be responsible for handling business-critical IT tasks and systems administration as well as tracking and maintaining hardware and software inventory. 

  • Setup and management of IT infrastructure 
  • Physical cabling and provisioning of machines and servers 
  • Configuration of VPN for access to employees and also configuring firewalls with the relevant rules. 
  • Coordinating with equipment vendors to buy additional machines/servers and maintenance of the existing infrastructure 
  • Working with a remote team in the US and managing user accounts 
  • Debugging and troubleshooting any network related issues and outages 
  • Upgrading, installing and configuring new hardware and software to meet company objectives. 
  • Implementing security protocols and procedures to prevent potential threats. 
  • Documenting processes, as well as backing up and archiving data. 
  • Keeping up to date with advancements and best practices in IT administration. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar. 
  • Applicable professional qualification, such as Microsoft, Oracle, or Cisco certification is a plus. 
  • At least two years’ experience in a similar role. 
  • Extensive experience with IT systems, networks, and related technologies. 
  • Solid knowledge of best practices in IT administration and system security. 
  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, and time management skills. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
