About the Job

Fiber Mountain Mechanical Engineers are skilled and talented professionals, who can develop, design, build, test sheet metal components, and inspect mechanical devices, along with assembling PCB and other components. You will enjoy being part of an extremely talented, motivated team working with manufacturing, and operations teams to maintain and troubleshoot products designed for our customers. The ideal Fiber Mountain Engineer will have experience developing and delivering complex “enterprise grade” mission-critical automated systems for our data center and cloud customers. They will have a high customer and product delivery orientation, with the ability to both understand the “big picture” issues AND to drill down to detail.

  • Design, build, and test sheet metal components and assemblies with PCB and other components 
  • Improve existing designs to be more reliable, repeatable, manufacturable, and serviceable. 
  • Work with manufacturing, and operations teams to maintain and troubleshoot as required. 
  • Generate drawings and develop assembly instructions for transfer to manufacturing/operations. 
  • Provide 3D and 2D documentation for assemblies and components. 
  • D software expertise: SolidWorks 
  • Must possess CSWA certification or higher. 
  • Experience with the full product life cycles from prototyping to production 
  •  Experience with sheetmetal design principles and manufacturing 
  •  Experience with assembly design required. 
  •  Experience with EMI requirements a bonus 
  •  Solid understanding of mechanical engineering fundamentals: properties of materials, solid mechanics, and Newtonian physics 
  •  Demonstrated ability to work well in a fast-paced, small team environment. 
  •  Excellent prioritization, multi-functional collaboration, and written and verbal communication.
